This state technology certificate has been approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and is available to students who already hold a Texas teaching certificate. When you acquire a Technology Applications for EC-12 Certificate from University of Houston-Clear Lake, you’ll become equipped to help your students achieve technology literacy by integrating technology into the curriculum.
Enhance Education through Technology
With 12 semester hours of coursework that prepares you to create digital resources
and teach advanced technological applications, you’ll be able to teach students the
essential technological skills they’ll need to achieve their full potential as they
continue their education and transition to the workforce. Upon completion of the coursework,
you’ll be ready to take the state administered Technology Applications EC-12 Texas
Examinations of Educator Standards test, which is required to teach technology application
courses to students in grades EC-12.

UHCL’s College of Education graduate and undergraduate programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation for both initial teacher preparation and advanced educator preparation. We’re one of only 14 educator preparation programs in Texas to hold this accreditation.
