The UHCL Training and Development department works to provide tailored solutions and
support to enhance the overall professional growth and development needs for UHCL
faculty and staff.
University Staff and Faculty have access to multiple training resources.
The training department has knowledge and resources to assist individual departments

The University sponsors a leadership certification program called the UHCL Leadership
Academy. Available each year, participants learn about best practices in leading
others, managing performance, and much more.
Blackboard, OPALS/Provisioning assistance as well as other e-learning technology related
training and presentations are available through University Computing and Telecommunications’
course development team. The type of classes and times change depending on demand.

separate from your computer login. If you do not remember your password, there is

Annual Mandatory Training
Annually, all University of Houston System employees complete required online training
courses.
It is the responsibility of each employee to complete mandatory training. Employees
who do not complete annual mandatory training by the published deadline will not have
met their job expectations and will therefore not be eligible for merit increases
per the Employee Development Training Policy.
New Hire Mandatory Training:
All new employees must complete New Hire Mandatory training courses as required by
state of Texas, and University of Houston System Board of Regents mandates within
30 days of being notified of enrollment.
