Steven Bistricky, Ph.D. is an associate professor of clinical psychology. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Kansas and completed a pre-doctoral internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

He studies cognitive biases, cognitive functioning, and emotion regulation in relation to depression and anxiety. Recent studies have examined relationships among perceptual processing of facial affect and indicators of psychosocial functioning, or predictors of preferences for using certain stress management techniques. He is particularly interested in how interdisciplinary clinical science can inform our understanding of affective vulnerability and improve interventions.

He has substantial experience in conducting cognitive and behavioral interventions, including problem solving therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness based cognitive therapy, with younger adults and older adults. See Dr. Bistricky's curium vitae for more information.

Currently, Dr. Bistricky has an active research lab, and he has several ongoing projects that involve both undergraduate and graduate students. He will be taking doctoral students for the 2018-2019 academic year.
