Biography

Julia Englund Strait, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology and Health Services Psychology. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and her doctorate from the University of South Carolina. She is a licensed psychologist (LP) and a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP) in Texas.

She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Crowley's Ridge Educational Service Cooperative/Arkansas State University and the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child Welfare and Trauma-informed Care at the University of Tennessee (Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities) Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody.

Dr. Strait’s research and clinical work currently focus on traumatic stress and self-regulation/executive functioning skills in young people. Her expertise in scale development/psychological measurement and child/adolescent assessment inform her teaching, research, and supervision.

Dr. Strait will be accepting doctoral students for the 2019-2020 academic year.
